Why latch hook works so well on walls
A framed print is flat. A latch hook piece has pile: thousands of upright yarn ends that catch light, cast micro-shadows and shift slightly as you move past. On a wall, that texture reads as sculptural in a way flat art can't. It's the same reason woven wall hangings had their moment, but latch hook gets there with one beginner-friendly knot.
Best part: there's no special "wall hanging kit". Any cushion kit works, since the knotted front is the artwork. You just finish it differently.

Finishing and hanging, step by step
Complete the design edge to edge. Give the piece a shake and a light trim of any long strays so the pile is even.
Cut the unworked canvas back to 2 to 3cm on all four sides. Don't cut closer: you need that margin to fold.
Fold the sides and bottom border to the back and secure with fabric glue, iron-on hem tape, or a loose hand stitch through the canvas holes.
Fold the top border over a wooden dowel or rod cut slightly wider than the piece, and stitch or glue it down to form a sleeve.
Tie cord, twine or leather to each end of the dowel and hang from a single hook. Done: handmade wall art, roughly one weekend from box to wall.
You don't have to. Finish the piece, hang it for a season, then convert it to a cushion later: the knotted front doesn't care which job it's doing.
Keeping it looking good
Latch hook pile is hardy. On a wall it only needs an occasional shake outdoors or a pass with a low-suction vacuum and brush head. Keep it out of harsh direct sun to protect the yarn colour, exactly as you would any textile.

Do I need a frame?
No. The dowel method above is the standard finish and suits the craft's relaxed look. If you prefer a crisp edge, stretch the piece over a canvas frame and staple the border at the back.
How heavy is a finished piece?
Light: a cushion-sized piece is a few hundred grams. A single picture hook holds it easily.
